Introducere
The Behringer MONOPOLY is an authentic reproduction of the classic analog synthesizer from the 1980s. It features four classic Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) and offers a versatile 4-voice polyphonic/paraphonic design, supporting mono, unison, and polyphonic modes. Equipped with 37 semi-weighted full-size keys with velocity functionality, the MONOPOLY is designed for rich sound creation and expressive performance.
This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your Behringer MONOPOLY synthesizer. Please read it thoroughly to ensure proper use and to maximize your instrument's potential.

Despachetarea și inspecția
Carefully remove the MONOPOLY from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit. If any damage is found, contact your dealer immediately.
Conexiune de alimentare
Connect the included power adapter to the DC IN port on the rear panel of the MONOPOLY. Plug the other end of the power adapter into a suitable power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting power.

Figure 1: Rear panel connections, including the DC IN port for power.
The rear panel of the Behringer MONOPOLY features various input and output ports. From left to right, you will find the DC IN port for the power adapter, a USB port for MIDI over USB, MIDI IN, MIDI OUT, and MIDI THRU ports for traditional MIDI connections. Further to the right are various CV/Gate inputs and outputs for modular synthesis integration, and finally, the main audio OUTPUT and PHONES (headphone) output.
Conexiuni audio
Connect the main OUTPUT of the MONOPOLY to your mixer, audio interface, or amplifier using a standard 1/4-inch TS cable. For private monitoring, connect headphones to the PHONES output.
MIDI/USB Connections
For MIDI control from an external device (e.g., a computer or MIDI controller), connect a MIDI cable from your external device's MIDI OUT to the MONOPOLY's MIDI IN. Alternatively, connect a USB cable from the MONOPOLY's USB port to your computer for MIDI over USB functionality.
Instrucțiuni de operare
Pornire/Oprire
To power on the MONOPOLY, ensure all connections are secure, then flip the POWER switch located on the front panel to the ON position. To power off, flip the switch back to the OFF position.

Figura 2: Panoul frontal pesteview of the Behringer MONOPOLY.
The Behringer MONOPOLY features a comprehensive control panel. On the left are the BEND and WHEEL controls. The main section is divided into several functional blocks: VOLUME, OUTPUT, MG 1 (Modulation Generator 1), MG 2 (Modulation Generator 2), PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), EFFECTS, ARPEGGIATOR, TRANSPOSE, and KEY ASSIGN MODE. The right side features four independent VCO sections (VCO 1-4), a VCF (Voltage Controlled Filter) section, and a VCA EG (Voltage Controlat Amplifier Envelope Generator) section. The POWER switch is located on the far right.
Basic Sound Generation (VCOs)
The MONOPOLY features four Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs). Each VCO has controls for Waveform (Sawtooth, Pulse, Triangle), Octave, and Level. To create a basic sound, ensure at least one VCO's level is turned up. Experiment with different waveforms and octave settings to hear the sonic variations.

Figura 3: Detaliat view of the control panel, including VCO sections.
Această imagine oferă o imagine clară de sus în jos view of the synthesizer's control surface. You can clearly see the layout of the four VCO sections, each with its dedicated controls for waveform selection, octave range, and individual level mixing. The filter (VCF) and amplifier (VCA EG) sections are also visible, allowing for detailed sound shaping.
Filter (VCF) and Envelope (VCA EG)
The VCF section allows you to shape the timbre of your sound. Adjust the CUTOFF frequency to brighten or darken the sound, and the RESONANCE to add emphasis to the cutoff frequency. The VCA EG (Envelope Generator) controls how the sound evolves over time. Adjust ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN, and RELEASE (ADSR) parameters to create different dynamic shapes, from sharp percussive sounds to long, evolving pads.
Moduri de atribuire a tastelor
The MONOPOLY offers several key assign modes:
- MONO: Single voice operation, ideal for bass lines and lead melodies.
- UNISON: All four VCOs play the same note, creating a very thick and powerful sound.
- POLY: Allows for 4-voice polyphony, enabling chords and more complex harmonies.
- ȚINEȚI: Sustains notes until the button is pressed again.
Arpegiator
The built-in arpeggiator can create rhythmic patterns from held notes. Activate the ARPEGGIATOR and adjust its parameters (e.g., tempo, range) to generate dynamic sequences.
Întreţinere
Curatenie
To clean the MONOPOLY, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents, as they may damage the finish. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp se poate folosi o cârpă, urmată de o cârpă uscată.
Depozitare
When not in use for extended periods, store the synthesizer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. It is recommended to cover the unit to protect it from dust.
