1. Introducere

The Onvis Smart Motion Sensor SMS2 is a multi-functional device designed to enhance your smart home experience. It integrates motion detection, temperature sensing, and humidity monitoring into a single unit. Utilizing Thread technology, it offers responsive and efficient communication within your Apple HomeKit ecosystem. This manual provides detailed instructions for setup, operation, and maintenance of your SMS2 sensor.

3. Configurare și instalare

3.1 Instalarea bateriei

1. Gently open the battery compartment cover on the back of the Onvis SMS2 sensor.

The Onvis SMS2 sensor can be mounted using either the included adhesive tape or screws.

3.3 Pairing with Apple HomeKit (Thread Required)

The Onvis SMS2 sensor requires an Apple HomeKit Thread Border Router (e.g., HomePod mini, Apple TV 4K A2843/A2169, HomePod 2nd Gen) for full functionality and Thread connectivity. Ensure your iOS device is running iOS 17.4 or above.

4. Funcționare

The Onvis SMS2 sensor detects motion within its range (up to 7 meters / 25 feet with 120° coverage). When motion is detected, it can trigger automations and send real-time notifications to your Apple Home app.

4.2 Monitorizarea temperaturii și umidității

The SMS2 sensor includes a built-in hygrometer and thermometer, providing real-time environmental data.

• Date de acces: View current temperature and humidity readings through the Apple Home app or by asking Siri.
• Historical Records: The Onvis Home app allows you to check historical temperature, humidity, and motion records for up to 32 days.

4.3 Light Detection

5. Întreținere

5.1 Înlocuirea bateriei

The Onvis SMS2 sensor uses two (2) AAA alkaline batteries. The estimated battery life is approximately 8760 hours (1 year). When the battery level is low, you will receive a notification in the Apple Home app.

1. Deschideți capacul compartimentului bateriei.
2. Scoateți bateriile vechi.
3. Introduceți două baterii alcaline AAA noi, respectând polaritatea corectă.
4. Închideți capacul compartimentului bateriei.

5.2 Curățare

Wipe the sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as this may damage the device.

  • Ensure the sensor is within range of your HomeKit Thread Border Router.
  • Verify your HomeKit Thread Border Router (e.g., HomePod mini, Apple TV 4K) is powered on and connected to your network.
  • Restart your HomeKit Thread Border Router.
• HomeKit automation issues (iOS 17.2 specific):
  • If motion sensor status is not appearing as an automation condition in the iOS Home app (version 17.2), set up motion-based HomeKit automations in the Onvis Home app or other compatible 3rd party HomeKit apps. These configurations will sync to the HomeKit system.
• Citiri inexacte ale temperaturii/umidității:
  • Ensure the sensor is not placed near heat sources, direct sunlight, or in areas with high airflow that could affect readings.
  • Allow some time for the sensor to stabilize after placement.
• Difficulty pairing with HomeKit:
  • Ensure your iOS device is running iOS 17.4 or above.
  • Confirm you have a compatible HomeKit Thread Border Router.
  • Reset the sensor (refer to manufacturer's instructions for specific reset procedure, usually involves holding a button).
