1. Introducere
The Fieldpiece SPK3 is a versatile dual-temperature thermometer designed for HVACR professionals. It combines a folding rod temperature probe for in-duct measurements with an 8:1 infrared (IR) gun for non-contact surface temperature readings. This device features a convenient flip display, Max/Min, Hold, and T1-T2 functions, and a robust design for field use.

2. Configurare
2.1 Instalarea bateriei
- Localizați capacul compartimentului bateriilor din spatele unității.
- Use a small screwdriver or coin to open the battery compartment.
- Introduceți două (2) baterii AAA, asigurându-vă că polaritatea este corectă (+/-). Bateriile sunt incluse în dispozitiv.
- Puneți la loc capacul compartimentului bateriei și fixați-l.
2.2 Pornirea inițială
Apăsați tasta ON/OFF button to power on the device. The display will illuminate, and the thermometer will be ready for use.
3. Instrucțiuni de utilizare
3.1 Funcționare generală

3.2 Folding Rod (ROD) Mode
The folding rod probe is designed for accurate in-duct temperature measurements.
- Deploying the Probe: Gently unfold the rod probe from the main body of the thermometer. Detents will lock the probe into various open positions, allowing for partial or full extension.
- In-Duct Measurement: Insert the piercing tip of the rod into the ductwork. The rod hook allows the SPK3 to hang hands-free from registers or ductwork, providing stable readings.
- Orientare afișare: The backlit display automatically flips its orientation when the unit is hung or positioned in ROD mode, ensuring readings are always upright.
3.3 Infrared (IR) Mode
The 8:1 infrared gun provides quick, non-contact surface temperature measurements.
- Activating IR: Point the infrared sensor (located at the top of the unit) towards the target surface.

4. Întreținere
4.1 Curățare
To clean the SPK3, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water. Ensure the infrared lens and probe tip are kept clean for accurate measurements.
4.2 Înlocuirea bateriei
When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the AAA batteries as described in Section 2.1.
4.3 Depozitare
When not in use, fold the rod probe back into the body of the thermometer for protection. Store the unit in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

- Maintain the correct distance-to-spot ratio (8:1).
- Avoid measuring highly reflective surfaces, as IR thermometers may provide inaccurate readings on such materials.
- Display Not Flipping:
- Ensure the unit is in ROD mode and positioned appropriately for the automatic flip feature to engage.
