Fueling Your Zippo Lighter
To ensure proper operation, your Zippo lighter must be filled with Zippo lighter fluid (sold separately).
- Remove the inner unit from the lighter case.
- Lift the felt pad on the bottom of the inner unit to expose the cotton packing material.
- Slowly saturate the cotton with Zippo lighter fluid. Do not overfill. Stop filling when the fluid reaches the top of the cotton or begins to change color.
- Lower the felt pad and insert the inner unit back into the case.
- Wipe any excess fluid from the lighter and your hands before igniting.
Important: Always use genuine Zippo lighter fluid for best performance and to maintain your warranty.
Replacing the Flint
A worn flint will prevent the lighter from sparking. Replace the flint when sparks become weak or absent.
- Remove the inner unit from the lighter case.
- Unscrew the brass flint spring from the bottom of the inner unit.
- Carefully remove the remaining old flint (if any) and the small brass tip from the flint tube.
- Insert a new Zippo flint into the flint tube.
- Replace the brass flint spring and screw it in tightly. Do not overtighten.
Nota: Genuine Zippo flints are recommended for optimal performance.
