Introducere
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your MISOL 10-Tube Solar Collector. This solar collector is designed for heating water in small-scale applications, such as 50-liter or 100-liter water tanks (with a heat element). It is suitable for training projects, demonstration purposes, or residential hot water systems. It is not intended for heating large volumes like swimming pools.
Please read this manual thoroughly before assembly and use. Keep it for future reference.
Informații de siguranță
- Purtați întotdeauna echipament individual de protecție (EIP) adecvat în timpul instalării, inclusiv mănuși și protecție pentru ochi.
- Handle evacuated tubes with care as they are fragile.
- Ensure the mounting surface or structure is stable and capable of supporting the collector's weight (approximately 50.6 pounds).
- Avoid direct contact with hot surfaces during operation. The manifold and heat pipes can reach high temperatures.
- Installation should be performed by individuals with adequate technical knowledge and experience in plumbing and solar thermal systems.
- Properly secure all components to prevent wind damage or accidental dislodgement.
- Do not attempt to modify the collector or its components. Use only original MISOL parts.
- Ensure proper drainage and pressure relief mechanisms are in place within your overall hot water system to prevent overpressure.
Conținutul pachetului
Verificați dacă toate componentele enumerate mai jos sunt prezente și nedeteriorate înainte de a începe asamblarea.

Descrierea imaginii: Un deasupra capului view of the MISOL 10-Tube Solar Collector components laid out on a paved surface. Visible parts include the silver manifold, various aluminum frame pieces, ten black tube holders, and a small bag containing bolts and nuts.
- 10 x Evacuated Tubes with Heat Pipes (Diameter: 58mm, Length: 500mm)
- 1 x Manifold (10 holes, Aluminum Alloy outer shell, 1.8mm thickness, Rock wool insulation)
- 10 x Tube Holders
- 1 set x Aluminum Bracket with Bolts and Nuts

Descrierea imaginii: Several evacuated glass tubes, likely still in their protective packaging, are shown horizontally. These tubes are the primary solar energy absorption components.

Descrierea imaginii: A bundle of ten copper heat pipes, each with a bulbous end, are arranged together. These pipes transfer heat from the evacuated tubes to the manifold.
Configurare și instalare
The solar collector is shipped unassembled. Follow these steps carefully for proper installation.
- Step 1: Assemble the Aluminum Bracket. Connect the various aluminum frame pieces using the provided bolts and nuts to form a stable support structure for the manifold and tubes. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
- Step 2: Mount the Manifold. Secure the manifold onto the assembled aluminum bracket. The manifold should be positioned to allow for proper angling of the evacuated tubes towards the sun.
- Step 3: Install Tube Holders. Attach the ten tube holders to the lower part of the aluminum bracket, aligning them with the manifold holes. These holders will support the bottom end of the evacuated tubes.
- Step 4: Insert Heat Pipes into Manifold. Carefully insert the heat pipe ends into the designated holes in the manifold. Ensure a snug fit.
- Step 5: Install Evacuated Tubes. Gently slide each evacuated tube over a heat pipe, guiding the bottom end into a tube holder. Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant (not included) to the rubber seals if necessary to ease insertion and ensure a watertight seal. Be extremely careful not to break the glass tubes.
- Step 6: Connect to Water System. Connect the inlet and outlet ports of the manifold to your existing hot water heating system plumbing. Use appropriate plumbing fittings and sealants to prevent leaks. Ensure the system includes a circulation pump, expansion tank, and pressure relief valve as required by local codes.
- Step 7: Leak Check. After connecting, slowly fill the system with water and check all connections for leaks. Rectify any leaks immediately.

Instrucțiuni de operare
Once installed and connected to your hot water system, the MISOL Solar Collector operates passively by absorbing solar radiation.
- 1. System Activation: Ensure your hot water circulation pump is operational to move water through the manifold and transfer heat from the heat pipes to the water.
- 2. Monitorizarea temperaturii: Monitor the water temperature in your storage tank. The collector will heat water based on available sunlight.
- 3. Auxiliary Heating: For periods of low sunlight or high hot water demand, an auxiliary heating element in your water tank may be required to supplement the solar heating.
- 4. Freeze Protection: In climates prone to freezing temperatures, ensure your overall solar hot water system has adequate freeze protection measures, such as a closed-loop system with antifreeze or a drain-back system.
Întreţinere
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your solar collector.
- Curățarea tuburilor: Periodically inspect the evacuated tubes for dust, dirt, or debris. Clean them gently with water and a soft cloth if necessary to maintain maximum solar absorption. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Inspecție de scurgeri: Annually check all plumbing connections for any signs of leaks. Tighten or repair as needed.
- Integritate structurală: Inspect the aluminum bracket and mounting hardware for corrosion, looseness, or damage. Ensure the collector remains securely mounted.
- Heat Pipe Function: While heat pipes are generally maintenance-free, ensure they are properly seated within the manifold.
- Verificare sistem: Refer to your overall hot water system's manual for maintenance of the pump, expansion tank, and other components.
