Instalarea bateriei

The MP780994 TDR Cable Tester and Wire Tracker Receiver require batteries for operation. Refer to the battery compartment on the back of each unit for correct polarity. Use only the specified battery type.

Pornirea inițială

Press and hold the power button (usually marked with a power symbol) on both the main unit and the receiver to turn them on. The main unit's LCD screen should illuminate.

Basic Cable Testing (Wiremap)

1. Connect one end of the cable to be tested to the "PORT" input on the main TDR unit.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to the corresponding port on the Wire Tracker Receiver.
3. Select the "TEST" mode on the main unit.
4. The display will show the wiremap, indicating continuity, open circuits, short circuits, split pairs, or miswires.

Cable Length Measurement (TDR)

1. Ensure the cable is disconnected from any network devices.
2. Connect one end of the cable to the "PORT" input on the main TDR unit. Leave the other end open.
3. Select the "SCAN" mode or TDR function.
4. The display will show the cable length in feet or meters. Use the "ft/m" button to toggle units.
5. The TDR function can also locate the distance to faults like open or short circuits.

Detectare PoE

1. Connect the cable from the PoE source to the "POE" input on the main TDR unit.
2. Select the "POE" mode.
3. The display will indicate if PoE is present and identify the PoE standard (802.3AF, 802.3AT, 802.3BT).

Wire Tracking (with Receiver)

1. Connect the cable to be traced to the main TDR unit.
2. Activate the "SCAN" or tone generation function on the main unit.
3. Use the Wire Tracker Receiver to follow the cable path. The receiver will emit an audible tone and/or illuminate LEDs when near the cable carrying the signal.
4. Adjust the sensitivity on the receiver using the rotary dial for optimal tracing.
