1. Introducere

This manual provides instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your SWIMLINE HYDROTOOLS 12-inch Sand Filter System, Model 71225. This system is designed for above-ground pools up to 8,000 gallons, offering efficient water filtration to maintain clear and clean pool water. It features a durable 12-inch tank, a 0.3 THP single-speed pump with a 1,980 GPH flow rate, and a versatile 4-way multi-port valve.

The system is engineered for optimized filtration, consistent performance, and efficient backwashing, ensuring the cleanest water quality for your pool. The pump operates at low noise levels and is DOE compliant.

4. Instrucțiuni de configurare

Proper setup is crucial for optimal performance. Follow these steps carefully.

4.1 Preparing the Filter Tank

1. Place the filter base on a firm, level surface near your pool.
2. Position the filter tank onto the base.
3. Carefully add filter sand (not included) into the tank. The 12-inch tank has a capacity of up to 42 pounds of sand. Ensure the standpipe inside the tank remains centered while adding sand.
4. Once sand is added, attach the multi-port valve to the top of the tank, ensuring a secure and watertight seal. Use Teflon tape on all threaded fittings for a proper seal.

4.2 Connecting the Pump

1. Place the pump unit on the filter base next to the tank.
2. Connect the pump's discharge port to the multi-port valve's 'PUMP' port using the provided short hose and clamps.

1. Connect one of the longer hoses from the multi-port valve's 'RETURN' port to your pool's return inlet.
2. Connect the other long hose from your pool's skimmer or suction inlet to the pump's suction port.
3. Secure all hose connections with the provided clamps. If your pool uses different hose sizes, you may need additional adapters (e.g., Hydrotools Item 71002 for Intex hose conversion).

5. Operating the Filter System

The 4-way multi-port valve allows for various operational modes.

IMPORTANT: Always turn off the pump before changing the multi-port valve setting to prevent damage to the valve or system.

• FILTRARE: This is the standard operating mode for filtering pool water. Water flows from the pool, through the sand, and back to the pool.

• Clătire: Used after backwashing to settle the sand and flush any remaining debris from the valve before returning to filtration mode. Water is discharged out the waste port.

5.2 Pornirea sistemului

1. Ensure all hoses are securely connected and the pool is filled to the appropriate level.
2. Set the multi-port valve to the 'BACKWASH' position.
3. Turn on the pump. Allow it to run for 1-2 minutes or until the water discharged from the waste port runs clear.

5. Set the multi-port valve to the 'RINSE' position.
6. Turn on the pump. Allow it to run for 30-60 seconds.
7. Opriți pompa.
8. Set the multi-port valve to the 'FILTRATION' position.
9. Turn on the pump. The system is now operating in normal filtration mode.

Run the filter system for a minimum of 8-12 hours per day, or as needed, to maintain water clarity. Monitor the pressure gauge; an increase in pressure indicates the need for backwashing.

6. Întreținere

6.2 Sand Replacement

Filter sand typically lasts approximately 5 years, depending on water chemistry and backwashing frequency. Replace the sand when it no longer effectively filters the water, or when it becomes clumpy. Refer to the 'Preparing the Filter Tank' section for instructions on adding sand. As an alternative to sand, NEW 71015 Filter Balls can be used as an upgrade replacement media.

6.3 Iarnă

Before freezing temperatures, drain all water from the pump and filter tank. Disconnect hoses, remove the drain plug from the bottom of the tank, and set the multi-port valve to the 'WINTER' position. Store the pump and valve in a dry, protected area.
